Vehicle DymaniX Open For Business

Press Release – July 2006 – Royal Oak, Michigan

Vehicle DynamiX is now providing vehicle suspension and chassis design, analysis, and development services. With nearly 20 years of experience in vehicle dynamics and chassis systems, company founder and president, Mark Hansen, is bringing extensive engineering background to off-road, on-road, and all other forms of racing.

Making racers faster by applying engineering, technology, and experience to suspension design, chassis design, vehicle system interaction, and the entire vehicle development process is the prime mission of the company. Vehicle DynamiX can provide any level of support required. Services include consultation and support at races or test sessions, complete vehicle measurement and modeling of suspension kinematics, data acquisition, design consultation or CAD design development, stress analysis, or full-vehicle dynamic modeling.

Mark developed his passion for vehicle handling through his own racing efforts in Formula SAE, autocross, and karts, not to mention learning how to throw his father's car around in the dirt as a young driver in Southern California (“If Dad only knew what I put his car through!”). This passion drove him to a degree in Mechanical Engineering specializing in mechanical systems design. During nearly 15 years with Ford, he designed and developed suspension systems of numerous trucks, defined vehicle test procedures, designed data acquisition strategies, performed extensive kinematic and full-vehicle dynamic modeling, evaluated all suspension and chassis systems at, above, and below vehicle handling limits. Additionally, as the first product development engineer to lead Ford's involvement in off-road racing and as the Truck Motorsports Program Manager, Mark helped teams resolve issues and improve overall performance, optimizing Truck Motorsports' participation in dirt sports. The seed for Vehicle DynamiX was planted!

Passion for the complex interactions of chassis dynamics, an addiction to the challenges of racing, and a love and respect for the people and the community that drives racing – these nurtured the seed, evolved ideas, and helped to create Mark Hansen's company.
